The Byron Varsity Baseball team earned a non-conference split over Laingsburg on Thursday April 13.

In game one the Wolfpack jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after the 2^nd inning and the Eagles could not muster a strong enough comeback recording only 2 hits over seven innings to take a 4-1 loss. Hunter Richardson and Zac Geiser recorded the only two hits for the Eagles with Hunter Richardson scoring the only run in the bottom of the 5^th inning. On the mound Hunter Richardson earned the loss giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on two hits over 4 1/3 innings while striking out 5 and walking 8. Payne Staton and Kyle Hulett came in and combined to throw 2 2/3 innings of shutout baseball while striking out two and walking two.

In game two the Eagles bats came alive winning 11-4 in four innings as the game was called due to darkness. Hunter Richardson and Hunter Cool combined to go went 5-5 at the plate with five RBI’s and six runs scored. Payne Staton and Reid L’Esperance went a combined 2-5 at the plate with four RBI’s and Zac Geiser recorded a run and had two RBI’s as well. On the mound Justin Musson earned his first varsity win going three innings and only giving up two runs (1 earned) on just one hit. Trey Pehrson threw one inning and gave up two runs on zero hits.
