The Byron Varsity Baseball team had a rough start to their conference season losing both games of their doubleheader to Bentley on Monday April 24.

In game one too many errors proved to be costly for the Eagles as they gave up 3 unearned runs in a 4-1 loss. Zac Geiser went 2-3 with an RBI and Kyle Hulett, Payne Staton and Hunter Cool each had one hit apiece. On the mound Hunter Richardson earned the loss giving up four runs (one earned) on one hit while striking out 6 batters and walking four. Kyle Hulett threw four strong innings in relief giving up zero hits while striking out seven batters and walking two.

In game two costly errors were once again an issue as both teams were tied 1-1 in the 5^th inning before Bentley scored four in the 5^th inning and five in the 6^th inning to win 10-1. Kyle Hulett went 1-3 with an RBI and Zac Geiser, Payne Staton, Justin Musson and Cody Rickman each had one hit apiece. On the mound Payne Staton threw four quality innings giving up one run on two hits while striking out four to earn the no decision. Trey Pehrson received the loss going 2/3 innings giving up 4 runs (one earned) with two strikeouts and three walks. Justin Musson came in for relief and went 1 1/3 innings giving up 5 runs (one earned) on one hit whiling striking out one and walking one.
