The Byron Varsity Football clinched a spot in the MHSAA Division 6 playoffs with a 47-0 win over GAC Blue opponent Genesee. The Eagles are now in the playoffs for the 9^th time since 2000.

Payne Staton once again led the Eagles on offense accounting for four Eagle touchdowns. Staton passed for 47 yards on 4 completions and two touchdowns and added two rushing touchdowns on 4 carries as well. Austin Smithingell had 81 yards rushing on 3 carries for a touchdown, Connor Raymond added 68 yards on 6 carries, Hunter Richardson had 2 carries for 59 yards and Jerry Hall had 3 carries for 25 yards and a touchdown. Austin Smithingell and Thomas White each had a receiving touchdown as well.

The Byron defense was tough as nails once again holding Genesee to -2 yards of total offense on 43 plays. Since their week 5 loss to New Lothrop, Byron has only given up one touchdown and has held opposing teams to a combined 94 total yards of offense. Jacob Green led the way for the eagles on defense racking up 3 total tackles, a sack and an interception. Connor Scribner had 6 total tackles, Neal Ambrose, Cody Rickman and John Helms each had 3 total tackles, and Brendan Forgie, Brendan Glennie, and Jake Camp had 6 total tackles and 3 sacks combined.
