NEW LOTHROP HIGH SCHOOL: 40
The Byron Girls Varsity Basketball team hosted New Lothrop in a thrilling non-conference showdown featuring to area rivals on Tuesday night. The Eagles started out strong going on a 13-4 run in the first quarter before New Lothrop came back and took the lead late in the fourth quarter. The Eagles fought their way back playing lights out defense and not allowing any easy shots to win the game 42-40.
Maylee Hatt continued her dominating December scoring a career high 22 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Jessica Marvin added 10 points and 11 rebounds, Riley Gadola had 4 points and 4 steals, Ashley Glass had 3 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals and Greta L’Esperance had 3 points and 6 rebounds to go along with her game clinching free throws.
Byron moves to 5-0 on the season and travels to Montrose on Friday for their last game before Christmas break.
