The Byron Varsity Volleyball team had strong showing at the New Lothrop Invite on Wednesday August 25. The Eagles went 2-1 in Pool Play beating Bendle (25-20, 25-10) and Carmen-Ainsworth (25-19, 25-13) and losing to (Corunna 19-25, 14-25). A 2-1 pool play record earned the team a spot in the gold bracket where they lost a tough one to Williamson (22-25, 18-25).
Ryleigh Arndt led the team with 12 kills while Rachel Patterson was a close second with 11 kills. Payton Beard also recorded 12 aces and Parker Viele had 30 assists and 25 digs. Coach Autumn McGuire noted that “Girls are playing better every time they walk onto the court. As our middles become more confident we will become a well balanced team.)
